Double Dare dabbled in the pharmaceutical industry in late 2002, working with Logan Instruments to develop the next generation of tablet dissolution testing machines.

The FDA requires pharmaceutical companies to perform dissolution tests to assure the quality of the tablets they produce. Increases in drug research and production significantly increased the demand for Logan's dissolution testing equipment.

To respond to increased demand, Logan Instruments switched to higher volume production methods. Choosing a vacuum forming process for the housing allowed us to introduce the soft, organic shapes typical of contemporary medical devices. We eased the tooling costs by designing two different control panels that could be made in the same vacuum forming tool. This resulted in a line of instruments with a family look without the family price.
