In spring of 2003, Iguana Design – a high-end fabrication shop for the Vancouver film industry – asked us to contribute our creative & technical abilities to help create the signature gadgets & gismos of four feature films.

When the prop master for Scooby Doo 2 required a future-retro-cartoon DNA scanner, they knew that Iguana Design could pull it off. And Iguana knew we were the devils to help them. We worked with them on early concept renderings, seeing the device through a series of iterations before preparing the final production files.

Velma (Linda Cardellini) uses the DNA scanner to identify clues that lead the Scooby Gang to the location of the evil scientist's monster machine.

The complicated hero prop included a see-through lid for the dna scanning bed (complete with light and smoke effects) plus a custom lcd housing on an articulated arm.
